Independent expert inquiries
Expert inquiries can be used in several ways. They may investigate how effective legislation is, and report on whether a review of current practice is necessary, look into wether current scientific practice is effective, or find ways to improve the prospects for future research. They are carried out in the interests of the public or of funding bodies. Their findings are a matter of public interest, and are published openly.
