'Green Party policy is to phase out all animal testing...'

Sushila Dhall

Green Party candidate for Oxford East

Quote:

'Green Party policy is to phase out all animal testing on the grounds that animals are sentient beings who can suffer. We are aware that it is not neccessary to use animals to test human products and that there are now various alternatives to animal testing.'

This quote was obtained by FRAME (Fund for the Replacement of Animals in Medical Experiments) in April 2010 when it contacted parliamentary candidates to ask them to include the question of laboratory animal welfare in their campaigns for the forthcoming election.
