'I support [FRAME's] objectives, largely because I do not believe that results of tests conducted on animals will be neccessarily relevant to human beings...'
Ian Jenkins
Liberal Democrat candidate for the Aldridge-Brownhills constituency.
Quote:
'I support [FRAME's] objectives, largely because I do not believe that results of tests conducted on animals will be neccessarily relevant to human beings. I would rather be safe, when using pharmaceuticals, and I would certainly feel safer knowing that testing was more rigorous and appropriate.'
This quote was obtained by FRAME (Fund for the Replacement of Animals in Medical Experiments) in April 2010 when it contacted parliamentary candidates to ask them to include the question of laboratory animal welfare in their campaigns for the forthcoming election.
