"Animal experiments have been vital to the discovery and development of many advances in physiology and medicine"

Survey by Seriously Ill for Medical Research

Nobel Laureates in Physiology or Medicine - 1996

One hundred percent of Nobel Laureates who responded to the survey agreed that:

"Animal experiments have been vital to the discovery and development of many advances in physiology and medicine."

Seriously Ill for Medical Research (SIMR) was a pro-medical research patients’ support group which supported the humane use of animals in medical research.  The organisation recognised that medical scientists need living systems to research and develop treatments for complex diseases. SIMR has now been disbanded, following the death of its founder, Andrew Blake, in 2002

There is no website, however the obituary for Andrew Blake: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/obituaries/andrew-blake-652636.html
